Cold Air Intake System

The Unitronic Cold Air Intake System is engineered to maximize the performance potential of 1.8/2.0 TSI Gen3 engines. It delivers increased power, improved air velocity, and enhanced throttle response by decreasing intake air temperatures and reducing turbo lag. Beyond performance gains, this intake system also amplifies the sound of your vehicle's turbocharger and diverter valve, offering a more audible auditory experience due to its free-flowing, open-element design. Constructed with a 3-inch 6062 aluminum mandrel-bent tubing, the intake is lightweight and precisely engineered for optimal fitment. It incorporates heavy-duty, heat-resistant 4-ply silicone reducers and 5-ply silicone couplers and elbows designed to withstand high-performance demands without collapsing. The aluminum components feature a durable powdercoat finish, and all hardware is made from rust-resistant stainless steel. A lightweight 5051 aluminum heat shield is included to prevent hot air from reaching the air filter, ensuring cooler intake charge. The proprietary 3-inch dry cotton filter is designed with a radius base to maximize airflow while effectively filtering out dust and debris. Installation is designed to be straightforward, with a difficulty rating of 1 out of 5, requiring minimal tools and basic mechanical understanding. The system utilizes all OEM mounting locations for a direct bolt-on fit, and the installation process typically takes approximately one hour. This intake is recommended for use with Unitronic's Stage 1, Stage 1+, and Stage 2 software tuning. The system includes the 3-inch powdercoated aluminum intake tube, a 3-inch to 2.25-inch silicone reducer, a 3-inch silicone "J" coupler, the proprietary 3-inch dry-filter, a powdercoated aluminum heatshield, a coolant hose mounting clip, and stainless steel hardware and hose clamps.
