Cold Air Intake System

The Unitronic Cold Air Intake System is engineered to maximize performance for vehicles equipped with the 2.0 TSI Gen 1 engine. It provides increased power, improved air velocity, and quicker throttle response by decreasing air intake temperatures and reducing turbo lag. The system's open-element design also enhances the audible sound of the turbocharger and diverter valve. Constructed from lightweight 6062 aluminum, the 3-inch mandrel-bent tubing ensures a perfect fitment in the engine bay. Quality, heavy-duty, heat-resistant silicone components, including 4-ply reducers and 5-ply couplers, prevent collapse under acceleration and resist cracking or tearing over time. The aluminum parts feature a durable powdercoat finish, and a lightweight 5051 aluminum heat shield is included to prevent hot air from reaching the air filter. The intake utilizes a proprietary 3-inch dry cotton filter designed for maximum airflow and debris protection, along with stainless steel hardware for rust resistance. The system includes a 3-inch powdercoated aluminum intake tube, various silicone couplers and reducers, a proprietary dry filter, a heat shield, a coolant hose clip, and stainless steel clamps. Recommended software upgrades include Stage 1, Stage 1+, and Stage 2 (with a 3" Downpipe), and Stage 2+ (with a K04 kit and 3" Downpipe). A 2.0 TSI Gen1 DV Relocation Kit is also recommended. Note: The heat shield bracket must be bent to reach the radiator support for fitment in Passat and Tiguan models. The intake is designed for Transverse VW/Audi 2.0L TSI engines, excluding Passat/CC and Tiguan according to one source, though other sources list Tiguan as compatible.
