Cold Air Intake System, 3-Inch

The Unitronic Cold Air Intake System (UH001-INA) is engineered to maximize performance for vehicles equipped with the 2.0 TSI Gen 1 engine. It also enhances the audible sound of the turbocharger and diverter valve through its open element design. Constructed with a 3-inch 6062 aluminum mandrel-bent tube, this intake ensures lightweight durability and precise fitment. The system features quality silicone components, including 4-ply reducers and 5-ply couplers and elbows, designed to withstand heavy acceleration without collapsing. Aluminum parts are finished with a powdercoat for a long-lasting surface, and all hardware is made from rust-resistant stainless steel. The included lightweight heat shield, made from 5051 aluminum, is crucial for preventing hot air from entering the intake. A proprietary 3-inch dry cotton filter with a radius base is engineered for maximum airflow while effectively filtering debris. The system also includes a coolant hose mounting clip and heat shield mounting hardware. While the intake is designed for optimal performance, Unitronic recommends specific software stages (Stage 1, 1+, 2, 2+) for maximum benefit, with Stage 2 and 2+ requiring additional hardware like Unitronic's 3'' Downpipe or K04 kit. A 2.0 TSI Gen1 DV Relocation Kit is also recommended. Installation is rated at a difficulty level of 1 out of 5, with an estimated one-hour completion time. Note that for Passat and Tiguan models, the heat shield bracket may require bending to reach the radiator support.
