The Perrin Cold Air Intake System is designed to replace the restrictive stock air intake on 2015-2021 Subaru WRX models. By utilizing precise MAF sensor alignment and specific plumbing diameters, this intake maintains factory air-fuel ratios, helping to avoid the check engine lights that often occur with aftermarket intake setups. The system includes a custom heat shield that isolates the intake from engine heat, allowing the engine to draw cooler, near-ambient air for improved performance. Technically, the intake utilizes a specialized Dryflow filter, which provides reliable protection against debris without the maintenance complexity of traditional oiled filters. Each kit includes a necessary MAF sensor extension harness with factory-style plug ends to accommodate the new intake geometry. The system is finished in a durable wrinkle powder coating, available in multiple color options to suit your engine bay aesthetic. However, users should note that the intake configuration is not for use in extreme environments where heavy water ingestion is a risk. All necessary hardware and a mounting bracket are included in the box for a complete bolt-on solution.
