Cold Air Intake w/ Air Straightener

The GrimmSpeed Cold Air Intake is meticulously engineered for the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX/STI and 2009-2013 Subaru Forester XT. This intake offers a hybrid design, integrating the advantages of both Cold Air Intakes and Short Ram Intakes while mitigating their drawbacks. Key features include an air straightener that replicates the factory configuration for precise MAF sensor readings, and the MAF sensor is strategically placed inside a heat shield, isolated from engine bay heat. The custom, reusable high-flow air filter is designed with an integrated velocity stack entrance to smooth incoming airflow. The heat shield is constructed from laser-cut, CNC-bent aluminum with a durable black texture powdercoat, and it effectively seals against the engine bay to maintain low intake air temperatures. The MAF flanges and air straightener are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum, with the intake tube fabricated from custom-bent tubing for optimal MAF diameter. The entire assembly is TIG welded by expert welders and finished with a heavy-duty powdercoat, ensuring maximum performance and reliability. This product is proudly Made in the USA. Installation is designed to be straightforward, typically taking around 30 minutes, with supporting written and video guides available. However, this intake requires tuning and is not compatible with the factory tune or any off-the-shelf maps. Performance gains include an additional 21 wheel horsepower at peak and up to 30 wheel horsepower earlier in the powerband compared to another popular intake when used with a recommended COBB Stage 2 OTS Map, though professional tuning is advised for optimal results and to avoid overly rich conditions observed during testing.
