The Colt Cams Stage 2 Camshaft (Re-Grind) is engineered for 1994-2016 Dodge RAM Cummins 5.9L and 6.7L engines, offering a new torquer cam profile. Colt Cams has meticulously developed and dyno-tested various combinations to create this optimized grind for enhanced exhaust flow and better fuel economy. This Stage 2 camshaft is similar to Stage 1 but includes increased duration and lift on the exhaust side, providing an advantage for engines that may have slight restrictions or when users simply desire improved exhaust flow. The specifications for this camshaft include an intake duration at 0.050 of 175, an intake cam lift of .251, a lobe separation of 104, an exhaust duration at 0.050 of 210, and an exhaust cam lift of .307. Valve lash settings are .010" for intake and .020" for exhaust (cold). Installation notes emphasize that while this is designed as a straight drop-in, engine variances such as planed heads or decked blocks may require clearance checks before startup. Special caution is advised if using aftermarket connecting rods, as extra clearance on the cam core may be needed. For installation, it's recommended to use adequate assembly lube, follow Cummins installation instructions, and ensure the retainer torque is set to 44 ft lbs with red loctite. C.R. (cam retainer) cams are limited to Stage 1 and 2 grinds; for stages over 2, a 24V 2nd core or new cast billet camshaft is required.
