The Cometic C4983-030 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket designed for high output engines. It features embossed layers of stainless steel with an outer Viton rubber coating for maximum sealing performance. MLS gaskets are suitable for aluminum heads to aluminum blocks and aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, offering increased strength, rebound ability, and corrosion resistance.

This head gasket has a bore size of 84mm with a 0.030-inch thickness and a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches. It sits between the engine block and cylinder head to prevent the mixture of gasses and oils with the cooling system, crucial for maintaining engine health, especially when increasing horsepower.
