Description

The Cometic C4477-089 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket designed for specific BMW M30 engines. It features a 93mm bore and a compressed thickness of 0.089 inches. The gasket is constructed from three to five layers of stainless steel for increased strength, rebound, and corrosion resistance.

The outer layers are coated with a heat-resistant Viton rubber material, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), to handle demanding conditions. Head gaskets are crucial components that prevent the mixing of gases, oils, and coolant within the engine, and ensuring a good condition head gasket is recommended, especially when increasing horsepower.
