Description

The Cometic C5081-051 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for Chevrolet Mark-IV Big Block V8 engines. It features a .051-inch thickness and a 4.510-inch bore with valve pockets. The gasket is constructed with three to five layers of stainless steel for increased strength and corrosion resistance.

The outer layers are coated with heat-resistant Viton material, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). Head gaskets are crucial for preventing the mixing of gases and oils with a vehicle's cooling system and are recommended for engines with increased horsepower.
