Description

The Cometic C5816-052 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for Chevrolet Mark-IV Big Block V8 engines. It features multiple embossed layers of stainless steel with outer layers coated in Viton rubber for enhanced sealing performance.

This gasket has a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches and a bore diameter of 4.320 inches. MLS gaskets are ideal for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron block configurations, providing increased strength, resistance to shearing forces, and the ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a heat-resistant elastomer suitable for demanding sealing environments, while the center layer is uncoated stainless steel.
