The Cometic C5816-084 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for Chevrolet Mark-IV Big Block V8 engines. It features outer layers coated with Viton rubber for heat resistance up to 482°F and a compressed operating thickness of 0.084 inches.

This gasket offers maximum sealing performance for high-output engines and does not require sealants. It is suitable for applications with both aluminum and cast iron blocks, providing the strength and rebound resistance needed to withstand shearing forces.
