The Cometic C5829-040 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for Chrysler A-8 Sprint Block engines with W9 heads. This gasket features multiple embossed stainless steel layers, with the outer layers coated in Viton rubber for enhanced sealing. Its compressed thickness is 0.040 inches.

MLS head gaskets offer maximum sealing performance for high-output engines and do not require sealants. They are suitable for combinations of aluminum and cast iron heads and blocks, capable of withstanding significant shearing forces. The multi-layer construction provides increased strength, rebound, and corrosion resistance.
