The Cometic MLS Cylinder Head Gasket is constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, featuring outer layers with a Viton rubber coating. This gasket has a compressed operating thickness of 0.040 inches and is designed to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output engines without requiring sealants. It is suitable for applications with aluminum heads to aluminum blocks, as well as aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, and can withstand shearing forces.

The Viton coating on the outer layers is heat-resistant up to 482°F (250°C) and is designed to handle demanding sealing environments. The center shim layer is uncoated stainless steel, allowing for variation in thickness to meet specific requirements.
