The Cometic C5479-098 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket designed for Ford 302/351 Windsor V8 engines with a 4.060-inch bore. It features five layers of stainless steel, with the outer layers coated in heat-resistant Viton rubber.

This gasket has a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches and is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output engines without the need for sealants. It is suitable for applications with aluminum heads to aluminum blocks or aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, offering increased strength, rebound ability, and corrosion resistance.
