The Cometic C5323-051 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket designed for GM SB2.2 Small Block V8 engines. It features a compressed operating thickness of 0.051 inches and includes steam holes.

Constructed from multiple layers of stainless steel, this gasket offers enhanced strength and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are coated with Viton rubber, a heat-resistant elastomer capable of withstanding high temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). MLS gaskets are ideal for applications involving aluminum heads and blocks, or aluminum heads with cast iron blocks, as they can handle the shearing forces between dissimilar materials.
