The Cometic C4586-060 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for optimal engine sealing. It is constructed from three to five layers of stainless steel, chosen for its strength, rebound capabilities, and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are coated with Viton rubber, which can withstand high temperatures up to 250°C (482°F) and is suited for demanding sealing environments. This gasket prevents the mixing of gasses and oils with the cooling system, crucial for engine health, especially when increasing horsepower.
