The Cometic MLS head gasket is constructed from multiple layers of stainless steel for enhanced strength. It features load-controlled embossments that conform to distribute load across the sealing area, creating an exceptional seal with less clamp load and reduced bore distortion. The outer layers are coated with FKM (Viton®), a high-temperature and chemical-resistant polymer, while a topcoat of PTFE helps resist fretting and improves cold sealing.
