Description

The Cometic C4493-070 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket designed for high-output engines. It is constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel with an outer Viton rubber coating for enhanced sealing. The gasket has a bore diameter of 79mm and a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches.

MLS head gaskets provide maximum sealing performance and require no sealants. They are suitable for use with aluminum heads on aluminum or cast iron blocks, capable of withstanding shearing forces between dissimilar materials. The stainless steel layers offer increased strength, rebound resistance, and corrosion resistance.
