Description

The Cometic C4227-051 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for high-output engines. It features a compressed operating thickness of 0.051 inches and a bore diameter of 86.5mm. This gasket is constructed with multiple layers of stainless steel for increased strength, rebound ability, and corrosion resistance, and its outer layers are coated with Viton rubber for enhanced sealing performance.

MLS head gaskets are suitable for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron block configurations, capable of withstanding shearing forces. The center layer is uncoated stainless steel, allowing for variations in thickness to meet different requirements.
