Description

The Cometic C5846-036 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket designed for Pontiac 428 and 455 V8 engines. It features a 4.380-inch bore and a compressed thickness of 0.036 inches.

Constructed from multiple layers of stainless steel, this gasket offers increased strength, rebound ability, and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a heat-resistant elastomer, while the center layer is uncoated stainless steel. This design provides maximum sealing performance for high-output engines and does not require sealants. It is suitable for applications with aluminum heads to aluminum blocks or aluminum heads to cast iron blocks.
