Description

The Cometic C4496-036 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket designed for high output engines. It features embossed layers of stainless steel with an outer layer coated in heat-resistant Viton rubber. The compressed operating thickness is 0.036 inches.

This gasket is ideal for applications connecting aluminum heads to aluminum blocks or aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, as it can withstand shearing forces. Its construction provides increased strength, rebound ability, and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250 C/482 F, while the center shim layer is uncoated stainless steel.
