The Cometic C4170-098 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for Toyota 4A-GE and 4A-GEZ engines. It features a compressed operating thickness of 0.098 inches and an 81mm bore. This gasket is constructed with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, with the outer layers coated in Viton rubber for enhanced sealing.

Cometic MLS head gaskets provide maximum sealing performance for high-output engines and do not require sealants. They are suitable for applications with aluminum heads to aluminum blocks, as well as aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, and can withstand the shearing forces between dissimilar materials. The multi-layer stainless steel design offers increased strength, rebound ability, and corrosion resistance. The Viton coating is heat resistant up to 250 C (482 F) and designed for demanding sealing environments.
