The Cometic C4246-066 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed for Volkswagen 1.8/2.0L EA827 engines with an 85mm bore. It features multiple embossed layers of stainless steel with outer layers coated in Viton rubber for enhanced sealing. The compressed thickness is 0.066 inches.

Cometic MLS head gaskets offer maximum sealing performance for high-output engines and do not require sealants. They are suitable for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron block configurations, capable of withstanding shearing forces. The multi-layer stainless steel construction provides increased strength, rebound, and corrosion resistance.
