The Cometic MLS cylinder head gasket is constructed from three to five layers of stainless steel for increased strength, rebound, and corrosion resistance. Its outer layers are embossed and coated with Viton rubber, which is heat-resistant up to 482°F, to handle demanding sealing environments.
