Description

The TIMKEN 10L31870 is a commercial vehicle leather seal designed for steer axle, wheel-end applications. Its polymer-impregnated leather lip effectively absorbs grit and provides protection across a broad temperature range from -65F to 170F (-55C to 77C).

This seal outperforms nitrile seals in cold, contaminated environments and is compatible with all natural and synthetic oils and greases. The heavy-duty construction of its outer wall enables effective heat transfer away from the sealing lip, while an oversized, double-walled metal outer diameter helps prevent the seal from spinning or walking out of the bore hub. A severe service sleeve provides a new running surface for worn or damaged axle spindles and protects the spindle during hub removal.
