One of the first requirements when installing a Steel Roller Cam is the addition of a bronze distributor Gear. A stock cast iron distributor Gear is not compatible with a Steel Camshaft Gear. COMP Cams Gears are machined from AMPCO-45 extruded aluminum bronze with 5% Nickel added. Featuring a high strength tooth that resists wear even with high-pressure oil pumps, this .491" I.D. bronze distributor gear fits steel roller cams in Chevrolet 200-262 V6, 265-400 Small Block and 396-454 Big Block.

It features 264 degrees of advertised duration on the intake and 270 degrees on the exhaust, with valve lifts of 0.487 inches for the intake and 0.495 inches for the exhaust. This camshaft operates within a basic RPM range of 1200-5200.
