This COMP Cams Xtreme Energy 254/260 Solid Roller Cam and Lifter Kit (MPN: CL11-773-8) is designed for Chevrolet Big Block 396-454ci engines from 1967-1996, excluding 1965-66 396 c.i.d. models with an oiling groove in the rear journal. It is optimized for Pro Street applications requiring strong intake and exhaust, 11:1+ compression, and a 3500+ stall converter. The camshaft requires a Melanized or Nitrided distributor gear for proper operation, and is not compatible with cast or Steel Gears without similar surface treatments, as failure to utilize the proper gear will void warranties.
