The COMP Cams 4782-100 Valve Spring Locator is a thin, hardened steel alloy seat designed to protect the head and shim while locating and holding the spring in place. It offers an I.D. locator with the locating shoulder on the inside, as well as a spring cup, available in many sizes to locate from the inside or outside diameter. This part is designed to address the issues of older style standard shims that may not hold up to the extreme spring pressures and high RPM found in racing engines.
