The Fabspeed Competition Air Intake System is engineered to significantly boost power and enhance the auditory experience of your Porsche 986 Boxster or Boxster S (2000-2004). Constructed from robust, aircraft-grade 5052 aluminum, this system includes a heat shield designed to block hot engine bay air, thereby lowering intake temperatures for improved performance on both the street and track. The intake system utilizes a conical dry-style air filter, which offers increased filtration surface area and superior airflow compared to the factory panel filter. This design not only maximizes air intake but also ensures the mass airflow sensor remains clean as the filters do not require oiling. Installation is described as a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory air box, though professional installation is advised due to the need to access the engine bay, which may involve dropping the engine or carefully removing the restrictive OEM airbox. Performance gains are supported by dyno testing, with claims of peak increases of 15 horsepower and 10 ft-lbs of torque on the Boxster S, and dyno curve gains of +26.4 HP and +19.2 ft-lbs of torque at 7000rpm.
