The Evolution Racewerks Competition Series Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) is engineered as a high-performance upgrade for BMW N55 Engines found in the 335i and 435i models. Developed and tested extensively under racing conditions, this intercooler boasts a massive 20"x11"x3" (26"x11"x3" with end tanks) high-density bar and plate core, offering 660 cubic inches of cooling surface area – a 35% increase over the factory tube and fin core. Its fins are denser, with 18-20 fins per square inch, providing superior heat transfer efficiency. It utilizes factory-style connectors, ensuring full compatibility with both factory and compatible aftermarket piping. The design moves the intercooler forward from the factory location, allowing for greater frontal surface area and more direct airflow without compromising internal flow dynamics. Installation is straightforward as a 100% bolt-on component with all necessary hardware included; no modifications are required. Available finishes include a standard brush, an optional polished finish, or a stealthy Type III Hard Black Anodizing. This hard anodizing not only provides a discreet look but also strengthens the intercooler fins against damage from road debris. The full kit includes the intercooler, intercooler to throttle body charge pipe, and turbo to intercooler charge pipe, though basic and standard packages are also available.
