The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-1647A is a remanufactured complete axle assembly engineered for 1993-1997 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird models equipped with a 7.5" GM ring gear, a 2.73 gear ratio, and drum brakes. This assembly is rebuilt to meet high standards of precision and reliability, with a comprehensive inspection process for all internal components, including the ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers. All wearable parts such as bearings and seals are replaced to ensure longevity and performance. The remanufacturing process involves rigorous testing and inspection. Gears are examined for optimal tooth contact patterns and correct rolling torque, measured in inch-pounds for precise setup. Proper gear backlash is set to ensure correct gear lubrication and quiet operation. Axle tubes are inspected and straightened to meet OEM specifications, and housings are tested for surface wear and cracks. Zumbrota Drivetrain utilizes an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure, followed by a proprietary shot-enticed deep cleaning process. This ensures internal and external parts are cleaned to an OEM finish, setting a high standard for axle assembly remanufacturing. All bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced as part of the rebuild. It is important to note that this axle assembly does not include hubs, brakes, backing plates, or axle shafts. The original GM 7.6 Inch ring gear is used, and this specific unit is designed without Posi Traction.
