Bearings and seals are replaced, and gears are checked for optimal tooth contact patterns and correct rolling torque. Axle tubes are inspected for straightness to meet OEM specifications. Zumbrota utilizes a proprietary cleaning process involving hydro-blasting and sandblasting.

This axle assembly features a 3.31 gear ratio and a 10.25-inch ring gear, suitable for trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) under 8500 lbs. It is equipped with a Posi Traction (limited-slip differential) for enhanced traction and is configured for drum brakes. The assembly utilizes a semi-float C-clip axle style. Each Zumbrota axle assembly undergoes a rigorous remanufacturing process. All internal components, including ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, are fully inspected and tested. To ensure longevity and reliability, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced. The gears are meticulously inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns and set to precise rolling torque specifications using inch-pound measurements. Backlash is correctly set for proper gear lubrication and quiet operation. Furthermore, axle tubes are inspected and straightened to meet OEM standards, and housings are tested for surface wear and cracks. Zumbrota employs an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure, followed by a proprietary shot-enticed deep cleaning process, setting a high standard for axle assembly remanufacturing. **Please Note:** This assembly does not include hubs, brakes, backing plates, or axle shafts.
