Carrillo connecting rods are forged from proprietary 4330m chromoly steel for superior strength and durability. They are available with WMC-H7 (H11 Tool Steel) bolts with 220 k psi ultimate tensile strength (UTS), or upgraded CARR-S7 (MP35N) bolts with 285k UTS. Both bolt types feature asymmetrical threads for even distribution of thread engagement, increasing clamp load and improving fatigue life. These rods are a popular upgrade for Porsche engines (air-cooled 356 and 911, water-cooled Boxster, Cayman, and 911 M96/M97) for performance street and track builds, particularly for engines revving over 7400 rpm or producing over 400 horsepower. They are designed as a drop-in upgrade for original equipment Porsche connecting rods. Custom lengths, wrist pin sizes, and titanium material options are available.
