The Kicker 42CWQ104 CompQ is a 10-inch subwoofer engineered to deliver precise and powerful bass. Its construction includes a robust cast aluminum basket for structural integrity and a SoloKon polypropylene cone with a Santoprene rubber surround, ensuring the cone maintains its composure even during extended, high-excursion playback. This subwoofer boasts an RMS power handling of 700 watts. Designed for flexibility in system integration, the 42CWQ104 features dual 4-ohm voice coils. This setup allows for various wiring configurations, enabling users to match the subwoofer's impedance to their amplifier for optimal power delivery. The sensitivity is rated at 85.3 dB, and the mounting depth is 6-3/8 inches. For optimal performance, Kicker recommends specific enclosure volumes: 0.66 to 1.25 cubic feet for sealed enclosures and 1.25 to 2.25 cubic feet for ported enclosures. It's important to note that a grille is not included with this subwoofer and will need to be sourced separately. To ensure longevity and prevent damage, it's crucial to stay within the 700-watt RMS rating when setting amplifier power levels and gain.
