Description

Orifice tubes separate the high and low-pressure sections of an A/C system. They are simple components with no moving parts, acting as a refrigerant filter and restriction to regulate the flow of liquid refrigerant into the evaporator. Fixed orifice tubes have a set diameter and their flow rate is determined by pressure drop and tube diameter. Their performance is optimized at highway speeds and they are built application-specific per OEM size and color. They can become clogged with debris and require replacement.
