The Adapt Lab Coolant Bypass Restrictor is a billet aluminum component engineered to manage engine coolant temperatures in 1UZ-FE Non VVTI, 2UZ-FE VVTI, and 3UZ-FE VVTI engines. By restricting the bypass port, which often allows excessive coolant recirculation under stress, this component helps prevent coolant temperatures from reaching dangerous levels during prolonged performance-based driving. Installation requires a thermostat to be fitted for proper system function. Corrosion within the coolant system may cause fitment issues, so cleaning and light sanding of the inlet are recommended before installation. A dead blow hammer should be used to achieve a flush fitment. Note that this restrictor is not compatible with housings featuring a removable two-bolt side barb, commonly found on 1UZ VVTI and 2UZ Non VVTI engines; for these configurations, users must replace the water inlet housing with OEM part number 16032-50110.
