The Behr Coolant Expansion Tank serves as a direct OEM replacement for your vehicle's aged, cracked, or deformed coolant expansion tank, addressing potential leaks and overheating issues. This tank is specifically designed for non-M model E46 vehicles, X5 3.0 liter (E53), and first-generation X3 (E83). Preferred for its quality, longevity, and price, it is manufactured by Behr-Hella or Rein, both long-time suppliers to BMW. This expansion tank is compatible with a wide range of BMW models, including the 323i, 323Ci, 325i, 325xi, 325Ci, 328i, 328Ci, 330i, 330xi, and 330Ci ZHP models from the 1999 to 2006 model years. It also fits all 2001-2006 X5 3.0 liter vehicles and all 2004-2010 first-generation BMW X3 (E83 chassis) models, such as the X3 2.5i, X3 3.0i, and X3 3.0si. BMW recommends replacing the coolant expansion tank on E46, E53, and E83 models around the 100,000-mile mark, as failure is likely imminent after this point. Please note that the coolant expansion tank cap and level sensor are sold separately and must be purchased in addition to this tank.
