The Rein Automotive Coolant Expansion Tank is a direct replacement for the original BMW part #17137640514. It is common for these plastic reservoirs to become brittle and crack over time due to constant temperature fluctuations and system pressure, resulting in coolant leaks and the risk of overheating. Replacing this tank is advised as a preventative maintenance measure, particularly when servicing other parts of the cooling system. Manufactured by Rein Automotive, an original supplier to BMW for cooling system components, this expansion tank meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. It is virtually identical to the Original BMW part but offered at a more accessible price point. This part comes with a two-year warranty.
