These contaminants can diminish the cooling system's efficiency and lead to premature wear on water pump bearings and damage to EGR and oil cooler passages. By filtering the coolant, this system helps ensure your engine operates at maximum efficiency and extends its service life. The filter block is constructed from durable anodized aluminum and comes with a supplied bracket that mounts to factory holes, eliminating the need for drilling. The system utilizes abrasion-resistant silicone hoses, pre-assembled for simple, leak-proof connections that are factory tested. It includes a WIX coolant filter that can be easily unscrewed for replacement. Recommended replacement intervals are at 500 miles for the first filter, 3,000 miles for the second and third, and then annually thereafter. Installation is estimated to take approximately 2 hours and includes all necessary hardware. The system comes with a 1-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. However, the warranty does not cover wearable parts such as gaskets, rubber or silicone hoses, and o-rings, nor does it cover damage caused by accident, improper care, or normal wear and tear.
