Coolant Reroute Kit

The Cobalt Coolant Reroute Kit addresses a factory design limitation in the Mazda MX-5 Miata engine, which was originally developed for a front-wheel-drive chassis. This adaptation led to the coolant exit being relocated to the front of the engine, compromising optimal coolant flow. By repositioning the exit to its correct location at the rear of the engine, this kit restores the intended coolant circulation pattern. Proper coolant flow is essential for maintaining consistent engine temperatures and preventing hot spots. The reroute kit aims to improve the overall thermal management of the engine, contributing to longevity and optimal performance, especially during demanding conditions. It is important to note that this kit does not include a thermostat. It is recommended to replace the thermostat concurrently with the installation of this reroute kit. The stock thermostat (part number 999-027) is compatible with this kit.
