The PPG Matte Black Vista powder coating provides a tough, resilient, and aesthetically pleasing black finish for a wide array of applications. This thermosetting powder coating is specifically formulated for durability, offering excellent resistance against corrosion, chemicals, and UV rays, ensuring long-lasting protection for coated surfaces such as frames, brackets, enclosures, rails, and panels. Ideal for touch-ups after shipping or installation damage, or for coordinating ancillary items like screw heads and trim plugs, this coating aims to match the original PPG color and finish. However, due to its very dark matte black appearance, coverage and edge quality can be more noticeable on uneven substrates, and slight sheen differences may stand out next to aged finishes. For lighter substrates, multiple coats may be necessary for even coverage. Key specifications include a smooth appearance with a gloss level of 3.0 - 5.0 @ 60, standard durability, and suitability for interior use. It has passed 1000 hours of salt spray (ASTM B-117) and humidity resistance (ASTM D-1735) testing. The recommended bake is 10 minutes at 375°F metal temperature. PPG Industries ensures this powder coating meets high standards for consistent color, smooth finish, and excellent coverage. It is also environmentally friendly, containing no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and complying with various environmental regulations.
