Custom Performance Engineering (CP-E) developed these MagnumDI™ Stage 2 pistons for the Ford EcoBoost 2.3L Turbo motor, focusing on performance and strength. They are designed to withstand hard use and abuse, having been track-tested on the world's first 9-second EcoBoost vehicle. These pistons are made using a state-of-the-art forging process with extensive heat treating and special finishing for optimum reliability in high-performance engines. They are precision machined to CP-E's specifications and feature specially designed valve pockets and a dome with unique features to optimize fuel distribution within the cylinder, sending fuel towards the spark plug for a more efficient burn. The pistons also incorporate a special cam and barrel design to help with piston positioning, movement under stress and heat, and to reduce noise commonly associated with forged internals. A special coating further reduces friction and noise while promoting oil lubrication. These pistons are also a suitable choice for built Focus RS or EcoStang applications.
