CP9660 Caliper Brake Kit

The AP Racing by Essex Radi-CAL ENP Competition Brake Kit is a high-performance front brake system featuring the CP9660 caliper model. The Electroless Nickel Plated (ENP) finish, previously reserved for professional race teams, provides a durable, corrosion-resistant, and visually striking appearance that is easy to clean. Key to the system's performance are the high-temperature, low-drag piston seals and anti-knockback (AKB) springs. The AKB springs work in conjunction with the seals to counteract brake pad knockback caused by suspension and disc deflection during cornering. This minimizes pedal travel, eliminates slack in the system, and provides a more responsive and confidence-inspiring pedal feel, especially during heavy braking zones. The calipers are equipped with machined stainless steel pistons, chosen over aluminum for their superior thermal barrier properties, which help prevent brake fluid fade. These pistons feature a domed back design for added stiffness and ventilation for enhanced cooling, slowing the influx of heat into the brake fluid. The kit is designed to work with brake pads in a commonly available shape, accommodating 18mm thick pads with the CP9660 caliper, suitable for shorter track sessions or sprint races. Installation is simplified with features like easy pad changes secured by bridge bolts accessible with a 6mm hex wrench. The piston sizes are specifically chosen to mimic OEM brake torque, allowing the kit to be bolted onto otherwise stock vehicles without negatively impacting ABS or requiring a change to the stock master cylinder or rear brake system.
