Unlike many countersunk knobs that leave the shift boot sagging, the POCO features a built-in collar that creates a clean, finished appearance while maintaining a very low knob height. This design allows for shorter and firmer shifts, with throws typically reduced by 5%-10% compared to standard knobs. Construction of the POCO-Insulated involves a durable stainless steel inner core for added weight, combined with an insulated acetal outer shell. This combination ensures the knob remains comfortable to the touch, whether the weather is extremely hot or cold. The shift boot collar, made from aluminum with a satin black anodized finish, attaches using a low-profile cable tie, with three supplied in the kit. Installation is straightforward: thread the knob onto the lever until it stops, affix the collar to the boot with a cable tie, and then clip the collar into the knob for a complete installation. This shift knob is confirmed to fit a wide range of Honda and Acura models, primarily those with manual transmissions. Key fitments include various generations of the Honda Civic, Accord, Fit, CR-V, Element, CRZ, and Acura RSX and TSX. However, it is explicitly stated that the Honda S2000 (all years) and 2006-2008 Honda Civic models are not compatible. Additionally, certain Accord models (2003-2008 CL7R) will require modification to the shifter, specifically filing down two small steel bumps on the lever, for the collar to clear.
