The Vargas Turbo Technologies VTT N54 Crank Bolt Capture is designed to provide enhanced security for your N54 engine's crank bolt, preventing it from backing out and potentially causing significant engine damage like bent valves. This easy-to-install component slips over the head of the crank bolt, fully encapsulating it and locking it securely to the crank hub. Constructed from 100% billet aircraft-grade aluminum, the VTT-CBC features a durable black anodized finish for resistance to the elements and a stealthy appearance. While not a complete solution for all crank hub spinning issues, it addresses a common cause by ensuring the bolt remains in place. Weighing only 1.3 oz, it adds negligible weight to the crank, which is important for maintaining engine balance and reducing vibration. Installation Note: In rare instances, the capture may not align perfectly with the crank bolt and damper bolts. If this occurs, it is recommended to apply slight additional stretch to the bolt to achieve alignment. Alternatively, a new bolt may need to be installed, correctly clocked to fit the capture.
