Crankshaft Bolt Capture for BMW S55/N55

The VTT Crank Bolt Capture provides an essential layer of security for BMW S55 and N55 engines, specifically addressing concerns regarding the crank bolt backing out under high-performance conditions. By slipping over the crank bolt head and locking it to the crank hub, this component prevents the bolt from rotating, helping to mitigate the risk of engine damage. Manufactured from 100% billet aircraft-grade aluminum, the component is durable and lightweight at only 1.3 oz, which preserves the balance and vibration characteristics of the crankshaft. It is finished with an anodized black coating for corrosion resistance. This component is designed exclusively for use with the factory crank bolt and will not work with aftermarket bolts. In rare instances where the capture does not align with the crank bolt and damper bolts, users must either apply extra stretch to the bolt for alignment or install a new bolt, properly clocked to fit the capture. While this component significantly reduces the risk of the bolt backing out, it is not a complete fix for all crank hub spinning issues. Installation is intended for the N55 and S55 engine platforms.
