The ATI 918993 Crankshaft Pin Drill Fixture Kit is engineered for LS engines to permanently secure the crankshaft, preventing damper shift, especially in high-performance applications. This tool is crucial for high-rpm, supercharged, turbocharged, or high-horsepower nitrous oxide engines where crankshaft integrity is paramount. The kit includes all necessary components for precise installation: a billet aluminum black-anodized drill fixture, a hardened 11/64 inch drill bit for accurate hole creation, an alignment tool to ensure proper positioning, and the required pins for the crankshaft. This setup allows for the installation of permanent positioning dowels without the need to remove the timing cover or the crankshaft itself, saving significant time, money, and hassle. It is explicitly NOT compatible with factory balancers. The ATI 918993 is also instrumental in permanently positioning any of the ATI Super Dampers available for LS-based engines, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
