CRANKSHAFT SENSOR

The DELPHI SS11392 is an engine crankshaft position sensor. This sensor monitors the crankshaft's position and rotational speed, sending vital information to the engine control unit (ECU) for precise fuel injection and ignition timing.

This sensor detects notches or teeth on a reluctor or tone wheel to create a signal interpretable by the ECU. Common symptoms of a failing crankshaft position sensor include engine stalling, rough idling, misfires, or a no-start condition. Internal short-circuiting due to heat and vibration, as well as contaminants like oil or dirt, are frequent causes of failure.
