This design contributes to more manifold vacuum at idle, lower crankcase pressure, and increased power output at the same boost levels.

The Crawford Performance CrawfordSPEC Forged Pistons are high-performance engine internals engineered to strengthen your Subaru WRX FA20 DIT engine for demanding power levels. Developed over two decades of testing on EJ and FA Subaru engines, these components are built for ultimate performance and dependability on and off the race track. Each CrawfordSPEC piston features a unique dish design, exclusive to Crawford Performance and developed with JE Pistons. This innovative design offers several benefits, including increased manifold vacuum at idle for a healthier engine, reduced crankcase pressure, and more power generation at equivalent boost levels when paired with similar supporting modifications. The pistons are sized for the OEM bore for a precise fit. Complementing the pistons are CrawfordSPEC X-Beam Pauter Billet Rods, constructed from 4340 chrome-moly, the strongest steel available. These rods are designed at a specific length, longer than stock, which not only enhances strength but also improves the rod ratio for smoother and more efficient power delivery. These internals are rated to withstand up to 600whp (720bhp) with proper maintenance and a solid tune. Crawford Performance recommends replacing certain parts when installing a new short block. They offer a comprehensive Short Block Installation Kit that includes all necessary pieces for a proper break-in.
