Crossover Steering Kit

The CavFab CF268 HD High Clearance Crossover Steering Kit is engineered to upgrade the steering system of compatible Jeep models, including the Cherokee XJ (1984-2001), Comanche MJ (1986-1992), Grand Cherokee ZJ (1993-1998), and Wrangler TJ/LJ (1997-2006). This kit is specifically designed for vehicles with Dana 30 or Dana 44 front axles. Constructed from 1.5" solid 1045 steel, this kit offers superior strength and impact resistance, boasting approximately 77,000 PSI yield strength and 91,000 PSI tensile strength, making it about 30% stronger than comparable 1026 DOM kits. The use of solid steel and the absence of welded bungs contribute to its robust design, promoting a tighter steering feel with less flex and added mass to dampen vibrations. Installation requires drilling of both the knuckles and pitman arm to 5/8". The steering can be configured as either Under the Knuckle (UTK) or Over the Knuckle (OTK) post-drilling. Please note that this kit is not compatible with the use of TREs (Tie Rod Ends) in place of the included heims. For those with a WJ Knuckle swap, a different kit is required due to varying tie rod and drag link sizes. Fitment requires a minimum of 1.5" of lift, with optimal placement achieved at 6" of lift. Additionally, a backspacing of 4.5" or less is necessary; stock wheels will not fit without the use of wheel spacers. This kit is designed to retain the factory sway bar and is compatible with the Rubicon D44 front axle. It replaces numerous OEM part numbers, including 52005743, 52087647, and others.
